• Java Software Engineer

Motally is looking for a bright, talented and motivated back-end Java engineer. An engineer with a passion for scaling, and handling large amounts of data. This is a high-growth position providing the opportunity to make a significant impact and provide critical input into the architecture of key components as well as the opportunity to move into technical leadership roles as we grow.

We are looking for a highly motivated, senior engineer with significant hands-on development experience.

• 5+ years Java/J2EE experience using the Eclipse IDE
• Experience with Servlets, Tomcat/Jetty and JDO
• Strong code testing abilities with JUnit and Hudson
• Comfortable with writing Ant build scripts
• Comfortable with Linux and writing shell scripts
• Experience with Hadoop, Hive and/or HBase highly desirable
• Flexibility and willingness to pitch in where needed. This may mean on occasion helping with other functions (e.g. QA, Operations)
• Working knowledge of current software security technologies (encryption, authentication, etc.), and their incorporation into software systems
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively.
