John Forese joins the team at Motally with more than fifteen years of professional experience with a background in both the mobile and analytics industries. Most recently John was SVP of Product Management at Nielsen Mobile. Previously, John was an SVP at Telephia where he led overall product strategy and had P&L responsibility across the company's product lines. During his tenure, John helped grow Telephia into the largest provider of syndicated research and performance metrics for the mobile industry, leading to the company's acquisition by Nielsen in 2007. Prior to joining Telephia, John held various management positions at telecom and technology based start-ups, including Flashpoint Technologies, Netro Inc. and Pacific Bell Mobile Systems. John also spent four years as a management consultant working with key clients in the consumer packaged goods and mobile industries. John has a Masters of Business Administration from Stanford and an AB in Economics from Princeton University.
Arte has more than thirteen years professional experience and more than nine years mobile experience working with companies like Yahoo Mobile, Helio, Vindigo and a wide variety of mobile startups. A serial entrepreneur, Arte founded/co-founded/invented MyEssay.com, the MIT Wireless Forum (MITWF), 3mg Inc, Zetre, m.towza.com, and a number of other websites, products, and services. He is an MIT alum.
Duc Haba has successfully founded and co-founded four technology companies. His illustrious technology career began at Xerox Research in Palo Alto (PARC) where he was a recognized leader in developing expert systems (6 patents filed). At Oracle, he programmed the first Oracle website and led a team of over 100 people to develop the Oracle Store. Duc was a founding member of Viant Inc., eCoupons.com, and GreenTomato Software. He loves to program mobile applications, heuristic learning systems and expert systems, and is an avid morning swimmer.
John Malloy, Partner, co-founded BlueRun Ventures and is based in Menlo Park. John has successfully invested in a broad spectrum of technologies and services.
John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Arcadia, FusionOne, Kilopass, Motally, Slide, Varolii and Sepo Media (Zivity). Previous board experience includes PayPal (EBAY), Bitfone (HPQ), eVoice (AOL) and MongoMusic (MSFT).
Prior to starting the firm, John spent more than 15 years in management and executive roles at Nokia, MCI and a communications services start-up. He holds a J.D. from George Mason School of Law and a B.A. from Boston College.
Jonathan Ebinger, Partner, joined BlueRun Ventures in September 2000 and is based in Menlo Park. He focuses on communications, media, and mobility opportunities.
Jonathan serves on the Board of Directors of Availink, Coupa, Fwix, Innofidei, Motally, Vusion and @hand. Past board experience includes Avesair (INPC), Enpocket (NOK), Lightningcast (TWX) and Varolii.
Jonathan has 15 years of marketing and finance experience in the telecommunications industry. Previous experience includes Vice President of Marketing for Qwest Communications, and senior level positions at Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions and MCI Communications. In addition, Jonathan founded and successfully exited Simply Savings, Inc., an Internet shopping service.
Doug Garland has more than 20 years of experience leading the development and growth of broadband and mobile services and creating significant new businesses. Most recently, he was a VP of Product Management at Google, where he led the development of mobile and local ads products, as well as a number of syndication initiatives. Prior to Google, Doug was an executive in residence at Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers. Earlier, he was a SVP at Yahoo!,where he led the launch of the broadband access business and the company´s mobile efforts. He also held executive positions with Excite@Home and leading wireless companies, playing a key role in the launch of Sprint PCS and the development of digital cellular while at PacTel/AirTouch. Doug holds an MBA from Stanford University, as well as a bachelor´s and master's degree from the University of Virginia, where he currently is a trustee of the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
